Alchemy Nutrition Challenge 2019

Alchemy Nutrition Challenge 2019

The holidays are here again. The time when we’re able to spend quality time with friends and family. But every good thing comes with a few drawbacks, and one of the biggest challenges at this time of year is keeping to a healthy routine. Let’s be honest: it’s not 100 per cent possible. That’s why we’re bringing back our Alchemy Nutrition Challenge in the New Year.

Last year’s nutrition challenge was wildly successful. We had over 100 people sign up and with more than 90% of them stick through it for the entire six weeks!  It went so well that we had to do it again. So, this year we our bringing back the nutrition challenge, only it will be even better this year as we’ve ironed out some of the kinks.

Here, Coach Anita, who created the challenge, answers some common questions about the challenge and the changes we made for 2019.

Why participate in a nutrition challenge?

A nutrition challenge is a great opportunity to reset, to learn how to properly fuel your body and create healthy lifestyle habits. Improving your diet can sometimes feel like an uphill battle or a lonely road. Going through change with a group (members and coaches) increases motivation, accountability and success. Sharing ideas, cheering each other on and encouraging in those moments of struggle. Our gym community is strong. Why not use that strength to improve your nutrition habits?

What’s different this year?

Although we had great success last year, with over 100 participants, we also learned some great lessons and are excited to add some different elements this year. This year’s challenge offers everything from last year with the addition of:

  • 2 InBody Scans (that reads muscle and fat)– one at the beginning and one at the end
  • Improved Point system – you’ll get points for hydration and proper sleep habits
  • Food List – we have incorporated a larger amount of acceptable foods
  • Facebook Live chat– every Sunday at 11:30am

Why did you make the changes?

Last year was our first challenge and just like anything it’s a learning process. So, with feedback from members and coaches we wanted to make this year’s challenge even better. We are extremely excited to be offering an InBody scan! The InBody test is a non-invasive body composition analysis that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water. An InBody Test can take anywhere from 15-120 seconds. No more pinching. No more dunking. Giving extremely accurate results you can trust so you can reach your health and fitness goals with precision and actionable objectives.

Also, our point system has been improved to include two simple but crucial elements to good nutrition: Sleep and Hydration. These two habits are often overlooked, and we want to teach members how important they are. Increasing the variety of “yes” food choices is significant too. We want to make this challenge sustainable for our members, well beyond the six weeks. Good nutrition is not about being strict and restrictive in your food choices, it’s about knowledge and awareness of what you’re eating and why.

What’s staying the same?

Support, encouragement and accountability are the keys to successful change and they’re the pillars of our challenge. We will coach you through six weeks with information, weekly Facebook live posts on Sundays and unlimited access to our private challenge Facebook group and exclusive email.

Also, this is a contest so there are cash prizes for people who show the best results.

What results did members get last year?

In six weeks, we had so many successes from body fat loss to increased energy to improved sleep to better understanding of nutrition and the creation of healthy longterm habits. For some, it was packing their lunch, eating a homemade breakfast or not having that after-work drink every night. Challenges are always that — a challenge! We ask for these six weeks that you eat real food, don’t eat out at restaurants, avoid sugar and don’t consume alcohol.

What happens after the challenge?

Ideally, you get a necessary reset that we will then use to create new and healthy habits.  It may not be realistic to keep every single change, but the goal is to be at a smarter and healthier place than before and build up from there.  Once the challenge is done there will be chances to continue for a coach to give you support, information and most important accountability to help you be the best version of you!

How do you sign up?

Look for a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board tomorrow as well as more information on the challenge popping up on our social media and in the gym all week! There is literally no better time to take advantage of such a big group all striving for the same thing.

Plus you can win a TON of money!
